The mission of the Georgia-Pacific foundation is anchored in the company's core business philosophy. Georgia-Pacific believes that for a business to survive and prosper, it must develop and use its capabilities to create sustainable value for both its customers and society. Thus, the purpose of the Foundation is to help create and fund those programs and initiatives that add value to, and measurably improve, the quality of life within the communities where Georgia-Pacific operates and where employees live. Georgia-Pacific Foundation invests their resources primarily in four key areas (the Four E's) that help create and sustain strong communities: Education, Environment, Entrepreneurship, and community Enrichment. Within Education, the Foundation supports programs for job training, literacy, and school partnerships.
