Purpose: Fund for Teachers supports preK-12 educators’ efforts to pursue knowledge, develop skills, and return to the classroom as a primary resource for students. With Fund for Teachers Grants, more than 5,500 teachers from across the US have designed and experienced summer fellowships that uniquely address learning gaps – both theirs and their students’. As a result, teachers have returned to 3,300 schools with insights, abilities, and energy that directly advance student achievement.
Eligibility: All applicants for this program must be: Employed full-time as a PreK-12th grade teacher and spend at least 50% of their work week in direct instruction with students in a classroom or classroom-like setting; Planning to continue teaching in the consecutive school year; and Have at least three years teaching experience as a PreK-12th grade teacher.
Amount available per project: Individuals may apply for up to $5,000 and teams may apply for up to $10,000 (all team members must meet the eligibility criteria). Upon award, Fellows will receive 90 percent of their grant award, the remaining 10 percent to be reimbursed upon completion of post-fellowship requirements.

Deadline for Applications to Funding Agency: January 30, 2014 by 5:00 PM CST.
