NEA Foundation-Student Achievement Grants

The NEA Foundation provides grants to improve the academic achievement of students in U.S. public schools and public higher education institutions in any subject area(s). The proposed work should engage students in critical thinking and problem solving that deepen their knowledge of standards-based subject matter. The work should also improve students’ habits of inquiry, self-directed learning, and critical reflection. Proposals for work resulting in low-income and minority student success with honors, advanced placement, or other challenging curricula are particularly encouraged.

Eligibility: Applicants must be practicing U.S: public school teachers in grades PreK–12; public school education support professionals, or faculty and staff at public higher education institutions.  Administrators may not apply for Student Achievement Grants, nor may they act as the partner applicant. Preference will be given to members of the National Education Association.

Amount available per project: $2,000 and $5,000

Deadline for HISD Intent to Submit form: October 8, 2012

Deadline for Applications to Funding Agency: October 15, 2012

An Intent to Submit form must be completed and sent to the Office of Community Development in order to apply for any grant for Humble ISD. Please contact Adrianne Holmes at the Office of Community Development at 281-641-8141 for more information.
