The purposed of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is to engage kids grades 3-12 to create art with the theme “My Healthy Lifestyle”. The goal of the art contest is to convey messages about obesity, diet and exercise, sleep and limiting screen time. Eligibility: Public or private school or homeschooled students grades 3-12. In the event a winner is homeschooled, the matching cash prize amount will be donated to a school or a homeschooling program of the winner’s choice in the U.S.A. or the country in which the entrant resides. Amount Available: Not specified; first-place winners will receive a $500 prize, with $500 for the child’s school; a trip to attend the 2011 AAP National Conference & Exhibition in
Boston, on Saturday, October 15. The winners are provided with up to $1,000 in travel expenses to be used for airfare and meals. The AAP will make the hotel arrangements.
